Professor James M. Tour, Rice University

Professor James M. TourDr. James M. Tour, NCI co-founder, is the Chao Professor of Chemistry at Rice University and holds joint appointments in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. Tour’s scientific research areas include molecular electronics, nanotubes for health applications, chemical self-assembly, conjugated oligomers, electroactive polymers, combinatorial routes to precise oligomers, polymeric sensors, flame retarding polymer additives, carbon nanotube growth, synthetic modifications and composite formation, hydrogen storage on carbon nanotubes, and synthesis of molecular motors and nanocars. Dr. Tour has received numerous national and regional awards, and was recently cited as one of the top ten chemists of the last decade in a Thompson Reuters study.

 

Professor Joey Mead, University of Massachusetts Lowell

Mr. Adam GansfriedDr Mead received her B.S. in chemistry from MIT and her Ph.D. in Polymers from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. She worked for over 10 years as a Materials Engineer for the Army Research Laboratory in Watertown, MA. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Plastics Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Deputy Director of the NSF Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing. Her technical interests include elastomers, thermoplastic elastomers, nanomanufacturing, mechanical behavior of elastomers and polymers, interfacial properties of fiber reinforced composites, and structure-property relationships.

 

Dr. Bhabendra Pradhan, NanoHoldings LLC

Dr. Bhabendra PradhanDr. Bhabendra Pradhan is Chief Scientific Officer and Managing Partner of NanoHoldings LLC. Dr. Pradhan is an expert in nanotechnology and alternative energy, surface science and catalysis, lean processes and product development, and managing new technology ventures. Bhabendra received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Sambalur University and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from IIT Delhi.
